Coming To Terms With Kid Mess

dirty

Do you feel like you constantly have a mess somewhere in your house?

Is your furniture all scratched or torn?

Are your walls colored on or covered in dirty handprints?

Do you constantly walk on bits of things and need to sweep ALL. THE. TIME?

Do your windows show little hands, nose prints, or even look like someone licked them?

If they are, I know you are a mom. As soon as you clean something up, a little tornado comes behind you and the mess returns.

Does it drive you crazy? It feels like you could clean all day and it doesn’t stay clean for long. As soon as you buy some new stuff, it gets wrecked… so you figure “why bother?” I feel like I struggle with this every day. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and realize that letting those things go will lead to wonderful memories. There will be a day when we will all long for a window to be covered in handprints, a dirty wall, or even toys all over the floor. Take the time now to treasure this time a little more!

You can save money by making your own cleaning products! DIY Outdoor Décor

By

It’s common knowledge that we’re outside more when the weather is warmer. ‘Tis the season to decorate your yard! Garden, siding and patio décor add nice touches to your yard and can be admired not only by your family and guests, but by passers-by (so don’t ignore the front of your home!). Just the other day while getting the mail, a neighbor stopped me to let me know how beautiful my front yard looked. All it took was some nice gardening, a welcoming door hanger, some hanging plants and potted plants with cute garden stakes. Simple, yet so effective. Here are some outdoor décor ideas you can make yourself!

  • Stepping Stones  - Add beach glass, shells, marbles, or other small items you’ve collected over the years, or add your kids’ handprints!
  • Fire Pit  - You don’t need a contractor to put in a fire pit, it’s simpler than you think and will save you money to DIY!
  • House Number Wreath - A lovely way to showcase your house number and decorate your front door at the same time.
