A Little Help In The Style Department

Sometimes you just don’t know what to wear. You may have lots of clothes in your closet but putting together the the right outfit for the right occasion sometimes makes us cringe.

For help in the style department you might want to try a couple of apps that can help take some of the guesswork out of getting dressed.

StyleUp is a fun app that provides a daily email with a weather- and occasion-appropriate outfit idea to use as a guide for getting dressed for the day. Simply sign up for the service at the StyleUp site. Choose the style that closest resembles your own, give your zip code and you will receive a daily email with an outfit suggestion for your workday. Simply rate each suggestion and over time the recommendations will get closer and closer to your particular taste and wardrobe. You can also browse the website and rate outfits, Pinterest-style, and help the app get a sense of your particular style.

Another option is WhatWeWearWhere. This IOS app is full of snaps of people wearing outfits for different occasions that can give you ideas of what might be appropriate for the workplace, a wedding or other event, a dinner date or at school. See what others are wearing and find out where they bought the items by clicking on the photos. Add your own photos to the categories and create your own closet for inspiration and storing your favorites.

These apps are a pretty creative way to avoid that awful feeling when you show up in jeans and everyone else is wearing cocktail dresses.

10 Reasons Why You Need to a Black Leather Jacket this Fall

5 Ways to Wear Stripes this Fall

Stripes are still a BIG trend going on right now. It’s crazy, right? They’ve been trending for the last 3 seasons! I have to admit, I love seeing a trend transcend from season to season to season. It makes it easy for everyone to “work it” because you can just keep refreshing and reusing from last season! :)

As the Fall season is setting in… or about to, I wanted to share some different ways that you can wear stripes this season!

I must admit, I wasn’t sure I’d like stripes a few seasons ago. I never thought I could pull off a tee or a tank or a sweater. I always felt like stripes just weren’t my fashion best friend. Even though I’m still not a 100% recovered stripe-shirt lover, I DO love them!! I’ve been seeing them everywhere and on every thing!

Just remember, go with what makes you most fashion comfortable. You don’t want to overdo stripes, you really want to work them into your wardrobe easily and one-step at a time!

Are you ready to see some ways to pull off stripes and have some fun with them this Fall?

Oh, yes! Flats with stripes. You don’t have to make them your fashion showpiece, just allow them to be worked into your outfit gradually. I love the soft stripes on these flats! So classic and so sophisticated!

2) Silk Blouse

Silk is IN this season! I am obsessing over silk blouses, I literally cannot get enough of them! I love this option right here. You have the silk that’s totally in right now, and you have the stripes that are totally trending right now, too. It’s a perfect match! Not to mention, nice and BOLD!

3) Jeans

You have to be FASHION DARING! I know a lot of people that are and I know a lot of people that aren’t! It really depends on your personal fashion taste! I think these jeans are cool as can be, but I’m not sure I’m daring enough. But… they are out there right now!

4) Cardigan

I always tell moms that they need a fabulous cardi in their closets! It’s just an essential. I love adding in a striped one this season. It’s easy to wear with jeans, trousers, skirts and dresses. I love the nautical feel of this cardi, too! Just an easy add-on for all!

5) Handbag

I love a handbag! If you’re looking for an easier way to add stripes in, it’s always safe to go with a handbag. It’s just the perfect way to get that touch of trend without wearing it all day long. I know lots of moms feel like they just want touches here and there. If this sounds like you, just add it on through your bag!
