Picking the Perfect Holiday Card

gameoflifeEvery year I struggle to find that PERFECT card with the PERFECT picture. I am planning on using some pictures we had taken of the boys this fall for our card. I usually do a standard picture card along with a fun “letter.”  I use the cards we receive as decorations in our home. So, when you are choosing your card take time to pick out something that will grace others during the holiday season.

At this time of instant communication, written letters are diminishing. A card during the holidays is a great way to let friends and family know you’ve taken some time to think of them. There are many different choices for producing the perfect card.

A purchased card can be one that you pick up at the local  store or one you find online that you put you picture on. This is a great way and the most typical to send a holiday greeting.

Homemade cards take a little more time, but can be a special way to express your love. These can be painted, stamped, or made by assembling paper. You can make these extremely intricate or very simply.

Digital Cards are used more and more every year. These are cards you design online and email to your friends and family. These can incorporate slide shows and more.

A lot of people include  letters in their cards. My husband is a graphic artist so I usually come up with an inventive letter that he executes for me. Last year we did one using an infographic and several years ago we did the Game of Life one that is shown above. I have seen ideas making crossword puzzles, wordless, or just plain newsletters. Get inventive and have a little fun with this part.

How do you like to make your holiday card special?
