Could Your Closet Be A Goldmine with Tradesy?

How’s your closet looking these days? Have you cleaned out lately or are you looking for a few new items? Allow me to introduce you to, an online consignment store for buying and selling women’s gently used clothes, shoes and accessories.

Buying? Take a look around the site and see what treasures await. You can search by type, brand, size or trend. I like the “Must Haves Under $30″ feature. Everything from high end designer pieces to mass market clothes are available at huge discounts. This may be your chance to get your hands on some designer pieces you might never be able to afford at full price. Or just find some really great stuff for a bargain.

You have to have a little faith in buying something that you can’t try on, but there is a generous return policy so if it doesn’t work, just send it back. The financial transactions are all handled via PayPal.

Selling? Turn your good condition clothes into cash. With Tradesy, it’s easier than bringing your stuff to a store (and you keep more of the selling price) or listing on ebay. Tradesy keeps 9% and really does most of the work for you.

Simply take a couple of good photos of the item you want to sell and upload it to the site. There’s an iphone app or you can use the website (no Android yet). Provide the particulars of size, color and brand with a short description of the item. Enter the purchase price of the piece and Tradesy will calculate the recommended sale price based on what similar items are actually selling for in this market. They will edit the photos to clean up any background and post it on the site within a couple of days.

Once someone purchases the item, Tradesy will send you the shipping materials. Put your item in the prepaid bag, drop it in the mail, and you’re done. Talk about easy! For my money, it’s a great and simple way to get rid of some of the things I no longer wear and get a decent price without a lot of bother.

I’ve already listed 8 items and bought a pair of really cool shoes.

Happy shopping!
