Fun Valentine Activities

Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be for couples. My husband and I actually gave up celebrating Valentine’s Day a long time ago, but since we have had kids it has come back to life. One of the things I like to do is make it fun with “heart” themed activities.

One that we are doing this year is making mailboxes. I found some cute metal mailboxes from the dollar spot that each of us are decorating with heart and letter stickers. For the week of Valentine’s we can place notes or treats in each others boxes to remind everyone in the family how much we love each other. I originally saw the idea here, and love the printable notes that are included. For my youngest, who can really only write his name, he can enclose little pictures and even little lego creations for us.

Another fun activity to make is a magnetic maze that will also increase hand motor coordination. For older kids, there are some great Valentine Printables with word searches, mazes, dot to dot activities and more. If you are looking for an art project check out these cute love bugs, or some decorations for your windows. Check out this site for more window decorations using recycled crayons, a love bird, or even a lavabottle.

Valentines can be lots of fun with kids! What activities are you doing to make Valentines special?
