The Lies We Tell…

It is so easy when your kids are little. They don’t notice the difference between the Santa in the parade, at the mall, and on television. They just accept everything you tell them as fact.

Then they get a little bigger and they start asking why there are different Santa’s, is there really a Rudolph, and do the elves really make all the toys or do they shop at Target?  We start to tell little white lies to end the questions. This year I find that the lies are more and more. I even started a note on my iPhone to start recording them.

I just don’t want the magic end… so whatever I need to do right now is worth it. I feel like the end of Santa is the end of childhood. They grow up so fast. I think I have managed to make the Christmas magic last one more year. But, I did happen to ask my husband if Santa can make Disney World happen next Christmas?

Do you feel desperate to have your children still believe?
