Making Valentine’s Special for Your Family

To tell you the truth, I never really have cared for Valentine’s Day, so my husband and I stopped celebrating it a long time ago, but then we had kids. For our family, Valentine’s is now celebrated as a family as a whole day affair.

We show the boys we love them by fitting in LOVE throughout the day. The easiest way to say I love you is with red, heart-shaped foods, love notes and special meals. So, here is my plan for the day…..

Breakfast – Since it is a school day I plan on getting up extra early to make these special cinnamon rolls. To make it easy I will use refrigerated rolls; I’m not getting up that early!

Lunch – I plan on filling the kids lunch with reminders that I love them. My oldest lunch bag will get a special note with a special treat, a heart shaped brownie. I also plan on cutting his PB&J out in a heart shape. I also think these strawberries may have to make an appearance.

The youngest will most likely have heart shaped grilled cheese along with the strawberries.

For our snack after school, I think Cherry Soda Floats are in order. Just add some Cherry Soda to a cup of Ice Cream!

Dinner – We have a yearly tradition of doing Fondue for Dinner and Dessert. So once again that will be on tap!

Special Activities – My kids love to do little worksheets every now and them so I found these fun ones to put out at snack and breakfast.

This is all I have planned for now…… but if you need more ideas feel free to check out my board on Pinterest. What do you have planned for Valentine’s?
